Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28 the 28th of October, 1967. Julia Fiona Roberts is the 4th generation Roberts living in Atlanta. At an early age, her father began to take an interest in theater. While a student at Emory University he appeared in numerous productions on and off campus. In 1953, he joined the Air Force, and was stationed at Biloxi in Mississippi, he appeared in a play that he performed in with Betty Lou Bredemus. The couple got married in 1955, and their first son Eric Anthony was born in 1956. Walter attended Tulane University New Orleans Louisiana after he left the Airforce in 1957. In 1960 the family moved to Decatur Georgia where Walter began working with Atlanta's Academy Theater and the Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. Walter and Betty Lou began producing a children's TV show in Georgia, Decatur called Bum Bum and His Buddies. They funded the show themselves. In 1964 Walter and Betty Lou founded their own organization called the Actors and Writers Workshop. It ran for about six years. They had two more children. Lelisa Billingsley (1965) (also named Lisa) as well as Julia Billingsley (1967) (also known by the same name Julie).
